A Happy Baby with Baby Massage – GIVEAWAY

At 4 weeks (when Frankie was deemed colicky), I decided to sign up for Sandy Cole’s classes which I knew would get me out of the house and even better I knew I could ask questions since I had no clue what to do to with my screaming child.

One of the last classes was about baby massage and how it is a good time to bond with your little one, as well as a nice way to soothe them before bed. I was also told that this is a great way to calm colicky babies, so me being an exhausted mother just needing to figure out any way to stop my son from crying and decided to give it a try and halleluja, it worked!!!!!!!! He absolutely loved it (especially when I massaged those pudgy thighs – he would always smile which made me smile). Frankie is 19 months now and I still give him a massage after the bath as it has become part of our routine. I highly recommend trying this out for the new moms and dads out there.

Weleda (we all know I am a huge fan of all their products) has introduced a baby care line of natural based products to help aid during the massage time while protecting your little one’s skin (why wasnt this around when my son was a baby) and lucky for us they are giving away to one lucky Babylish Advice reader a Baby Care Prize Pack including the Calendula Face Cream, Shampoo & Body Wash, Diaper Care and Oil all of which I have tried out and really liked (especially the smell of the products).

More information on each product:

Calendula Face Cream: This cream is a great moisturizer which isn’t oily in the slightest and uses beeswax to prevent dryness. I have been putting this on his face after each bath to prevent dryness

Calendula Shampoo & Body Wash: I have tried many shampoos and body washes and this is a personal favorite. Not only does it smell so good, it also helps protect his skin and scalp from dryness (which was a big problem for us). This is a great 2-in-1 product so no need to go out and buy multiple products. For the babies you can put a little bit in the water and then wash using a wash cloth and for the older one’s I put it right on the wash cloth and clean him

Calendula Diaper Care: After the bath, apply this cream to your little one’s tush which helps prevent diaper rash (the cream is breathable) and/or helps heal redness or inflamation which we all know happens often to our little one’s with wearing diapers 24/7. If your baby has diaper rash, try this out instead of those thick creams which I hated as they trapped the moisture and caused even more irritation.

Calendula Oil: When starting baby massage, put a few drops of this oil in your hands, rub together and massage away. Oil is better for massaging than creams as creams dry up quickly whereas oil is smoothe. This oil will still help protect your little one’s skin

New mom’s and dad’s watch this video about how to use the products, but most importantly how to do baby massage! I was taught all of this and I promise you, your baby will love it http://bit.ly/IScNhr

well massaged babies truly are happier babies. It not only energizes their mind but also makes them physically healthy. I prefer using mustard oil as it also keeps the body warm during a cold weather. this blog http://www.nappytimes.com/blog/entry/are-massaged-babies-really-happier gave me a lot of other tips regarding massaging babies as well.
