Don’t Judge …

Don’t judge me because I bring a DVD player with me when I got out for meals with my son – for months now I have been avoiding going out for restaurants because I know my little guy won’t sit for more than two minutes, but I am at the point now where I want to go out for meals sometimes and I want my son to experience not eating at home, so what if he is watching a DVD player? Don’t judge!

Don’t judge me because every now and then I need some “me” time – being a parent isn’t easy, it’s definitely the most rewarding job in the world, but sometimes you just need to step away and get your nails done or hair done or even just go get a coffee at Starbucks and sit down and enjoy the “me” time.  We are allowed .. Don’t judge!

Don’t judge me because I have a mini meltdown after my son has a massive meltdown – I swear my son has been having meltdowns since the day he was born, starting off being colicky and crying all day/all night and then to him turning one and getting frustrated because I don’t know what he wants, he can’t speak or show me so he just loses his s@%t to being almost two and well everything is just a massive meltdown because he is almost two.  I am also allowed to meltdown and it’s ok (even if it is in public sometimes) – we are only human! Don’t judge!

Don’t judge me because I didn’t make my child’s baby food – I didn’t buy a baby bullet or any kind of baby pureeing machine, nor did I go to the “make your baby’s food” classes and I truly hated the “oh you didn’t want to make your own food?” comment! You know what, my son is now 2 years old and he didn’t fall apart because I gave him the jarred baby food! It’s ok if you don’t make your own baby food and you don’t need to feel judged for not … Don’t judge!

Don’t judge me because my son STILL eats baby food – it’s not a secret that some, if not most kids get to a certain age and they become picky eaters and my son is no exception.  He has recently become a full carb loader and HATES anything healthy or any kind of meat, so what do I do .. I give him tetra packs of veggie baby food so at least I feel content that he is getting some veggies. I cant even begin to explain how many looks I get and even comments about him being too old for baby food. Don’t judge!

I get it, we all judge to some degree or another, but just remember, we are all human and there is always a story behind what you see

    Terri,
I will never judge, I promise. I have been / am in all of the same situations you mentioned above, plus some! I can’t believe mom’s would even consider judging other mom’s. To add to your list… I let Kyle watch TV before he turned 2 (probably as early as I can remember), I bribe him with candy and I laugh after I give him a stern warning for doing something bad because he has the cutest smirk / smile on. No mom is perfect, but you’re the perfect mom for Franky!!

We do all judge, it’s in our nature, but we should try really hard not to! Especially as fellow moms – whatever you have to do to get through your day with your child shouldn’t be questioned, we all know how hard it can be.
