I think it is so cool that Toronto is hosting the 2015 Pan American and ParaPan American Games in the coming weeks! So you have your PVR set, some tickets booked, now what? Time to Gear UP!
The Toronto Eaton Centre has opened up an Official Pan American Games store and I had the opportunity to get a personal tour of it. Coming from the promotional products industry (branded merchandise), I walked through touching all the apparel items feeling the quality of the material and better yet the quality of the printing (the logo) and I was impressed. What I also really liked was that the shirts were all fashion forward; nice cut tshirts, long sleeve shirts and hoodies for the ladies’ and the kids shirts weren’t oversized and adorable. I will proudly wear Pan Am apparel when the games start!
Do you know who Pachi is?
Pachi is the official Mascot of the 2015 Pan American Games and he is an adorable porcupine! He best represents the Pan American games because porcupines have a visual impairment therefore representing both the Pan American Games and the ParaPan American Games. Pachi has 41 quills each representing one of the countries playing in the games. His quills are five vibrant colours and represent qualities that he holds – green is youth, fuchsia is passion, blue is collaboration, orange is determination and purple is creativity. Neat right?!
Wondering what’s in the store?
Seeing as I blog about children’s products, naturally I was curious what types of products there were for kids and I couldn’t believe how much there was! The first thing that caught my eye was the Pachi stuffed animal (I brought one home for my youngest son and he hasn’t let it go since … the look on his face when I gave it to him was classic). There are Pachi stuffed animals in different sizes, Pachi stuffed animal knapsacks, Pachi lunch bags, Pachi regular backpacks, Pachi printed tshirts, Pachi pencils, magnets, stuffed animal keychains, stickers and so much more! It was a Pachi take over! For the little one’s who love the games aspect, there is a great tshirt available with an animated print of all the games on it and you could even play a game with your little one guessing what the sport is from the image.
I haven’t even touched on the amazing stuff for adults! There is a ton of great wearable gear from tshirts, long sleeve shirts, sweatshirts, golf shirts for both men and women and accessories like water bottles, cups, sunglasses, hats and more. Honestly, there is something for everyone!
